if today was your last day....

The last two blogs were all about the good and bad side of using words. Words can build up and can also tear down. Unfortunately, what takes years to build up can be rent and torn in just seconds--and the sad effects can last a lifetime.

Last night my husband and I were listening to a tune by the band Nickelback. The song was "If Today Was Your Last Day." I will add the lyrics here and please, look them over and allow them to sink in. Think about it: we have no idea when our "time" will be. So...how would you do anything different if you knew this was "it?"

There is a scene in the music video where a man goes to the bank, takes out every dollar he has and for no reason at all, gives his money away to people he meets on the street. Beggars, bums, anyone! The look of satisfaction on his face is worth his mission. I only wish that I could do that! Unfortunately, I wasn't blessed with millions of dollars, so instead I give of MYSELF.....and that is probably the most precious gift of all!
