of struggle...and courage!
sometimes it is better for me to remain silent and let someone better than I say the words:
Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.” –T.S. Eliot Poet
“The greatest test of courage on earth is to bear defeat without losing heart.” –Robert G. Ingersoll
“We can do anything we want if we stick to it long enough.” –Helen Keller
“True courage is like a kite; a contrary wind raises it higher.” –John Petit-Senn
“It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed. In this life we get nothing save by effort.” –Theodore Roosevelt
“The probability that we may fail in the struggle ought not to deter us from the support of a cause we believe to be just.” –Abraham Lincoln
“The world is in a constant conspiracy against the brave. It’s the age-old struggle–the roar of the crowd on one side and the voice of your conscience on the other.”
–Douglas MacArthur
–Douglas MacArthur
“Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, ‘I will try again tomorrow.’” –Mary Anne Radmacher
“He conquers who endures.” –Perseus
“The Difficult is that which can be done immediately; the Impossible that which takes a little longer.”–George Santayana
“If we are facing in the right direction, all we have to do is keep on walking.”–Buddhist Saying
I have pondered what rob replied several days ago...and then saw this today. It is speaking to me, especially the quote from Helen Keller, who I believe is one of the greatest ladies of all time. For me to live in my current situation, I guess I need to put aside my own selfish ideals and focus just a bit harder on my husband's needs. It IS a struggle, I won't lie about that! I will try to be mindful though of what he is dealing with...I think about me,I love chocolate. Any chance I get, if I see it, I WILL eat it. Same for him...he sees booze, he craves it, he wants it...I know it's a struggle. So thank you for your words....I will keep watching these blogs for more!
