a new Serenity prayer
May you find serenity and tranquility in a world you may not always understand. May the pain you have known and the conflict you have experienced give you the strength to walk through life facing each new situation with courage and optimism. Always know that there are those whose love and understanding will always be there, even when you feel most alone. May you discover enough goodness in others to believe in a world of peace. May a kind word, a reassuring touch, and a warm smile be yours everyday of your life, and may you give these gifts as well as receive them. Remember the sunshine when the storm seems unending. Teach LOVE to those who know hate, and let the love embrace you as you go into the world. May the teachings of those you admire become part of you, so that you may call upon them. Remember those whose lives you have touched and who have touched yours are always a part of you, even if the encounters were LESS than you would have wished, It is the content of the encounter that is more important than its form. May you not become too concerned with material matters, but instead place immeasurable value on the goodness in your HEART. Find time in each day to see the beauty and love in the world around you. Realize that each person has limitless abilities but each of us is different in our own way. What you feel you may lack in one regard may be more than compensated in another. What you feel you may lack in the present may become one of your strengths in the future. May you see your future as one filled with promise and possibilities. Learn to view everything as a worthwhile experience. May you find enough inner strength to determine you own WORTH by yourself, and not dependent or another's judgment of your accomplishments. May you always feel LOVED ~ author unknown.
dedicated to my husband...and to all whose paths may not always be clear; may the outcome bring smiles to your face and heart!
beautiful! Just beautiful! My mom is going in for heart surgery today and I needed this! Thank you for your daily inspiration! these posts should be made into book form!
ReplyDeleteThe Rev. went in for her 2nd knee surgery this morning. I think this is one of the thoughts she had going through her head. And many more! She was cleaning like a mad woman (she does that when she is nerved up,) and she was pulling some carpet stuff from the vacuum and said, "Some sheep had to die for this you know!"
ReplyDeleteWhen I informed her they don't kill sheep to get wool, she felt a bit silly! You people make her feel good about what she has going here, and I thank you all for it. She really has altered some lives with this blog thingy, brought me back with what I once thought of as my own kid after 20+ years, and others see all the good in her heart. I truly do love this gal! Yet there is always that one individual who takes the pleasure away and tries to ruin it for all because they WANT TO BE the Victim. Sad Sad Sad existance. I do pitty them.
Thanks to everyone else, tho!
The Rev.'s surgery went fine. She will return home tommorow.
ReplyDeleteI hope all is good Reverend Baum! You have taught me what life can be, may you now reap that benefit as well.
ReplyDeleteRev, may you get stronger with each passing day! Use your recovery time to ponder on all of us that you have helped with your kind words. From the bottom of my heart...thanks for making this ol' man into something his son can once again be proud of! I will never for get you!
