will you run from it--or learn from it?
Struggles hurt. So struggle anyway. It can make you stronger, better. I am reminded of the movie, "The Lion King." In it, Simba is confused about going back to his pride, to take over the leadership role from his uncle, Scar, who has tyrannized the pride and desecrated the hunting lands. Wise old Rafiki, the baboon, hears of Simba's fears and bonks him on the head with an empty coconut shell.
Simba: What was that for?
Rafiki : It doesn't matter, it's in the past!
Simba : Yeah, but it still hurts!
Rafiki : Yes, the past can hurt, but the way I see it, you either run from it, or learn from it.
he swings his stick at Simba again, who ducks out of the way.
Rafiki : Ah! You See? So what are you going to do?
Simba returned to the pride, to claim what was rightfully his.
It's the same with all of us. I don't care if you are struggling from an illness, a job loss, a relationship issue, if you have addiction issues, co-dependency issues, whatever! (Well, yes, I DO care...but...the point I am making is this:)
YOU CAN EITHER RUN FROM IT----OR LEARN FROM IT!
Now...what are you going to do?????
as the saying goes...when you get sick and tired of being sick and tired...then change will come. But ya gotta take that first giant step!
