Moore, Oklahoma...we hear your cries!
Imagine going about your day...preparing kids for school, making sure your car has enough gas to get you to work, maybe telling yourself that you'll call mom later. The day gets hot, muggy, almost too humid to breathe. The sky becomes ominous, roiling clouds build in the distance. But whatever...you've seen those clouds before, a storm that will come, rain and pass over to another place. Suddenly storm sirens go off..."duck and cover...but where?!" In the few moments of terror, you lie in wait under the most sturdy piece of "something" that you can find, your heart beating three times faster than normal. "The children! Oh my God, my kids are in school!" you cry out as the roof is torn off and there you are...exposed to the elements. Soon, the sounds of destruction pass....you step out of the carnage...and see...nothing but pieces of two by fours....litter, mangled trees and nothing else for miles. And the children?
They are still being pulled from the rubble.
Cell phone service is minimal..or non-existent as you furiously try calling mom...whom you had put off calling earlier. Why? Why didn't you call her earlier, you ask yourself! Cursing everything...you pick your way through the pieces of what is left, calling out for someone...anyone to help you. Voices and moans rise up from the rubble as heroes arrive almost immediately to assist in the search.
and what of the children, trapped in that school--or what is left of it? Where are they?
Pray my friends, for the victims of disasters such as what happened in Oklahoma yesterday. When you, who has enough, hear the stories of these folks who lost everything...what will you do?
Kind of makes you feel small...insignificant....maybe...blessed?
Yes, blessed is the right word. So go now and share your blessings with someone less fortunate...it's what Jesus would do.
so many missing..and you just know they will never be found. I can't imagine going through that! here's how to help them: Here is how you can help without losing the majority of what you donate to Management!
