Keep the dream alive within you!

Continuing the thoughts from yesterday's blog, about the "I Have a Dream" speech and how God created us all equal to one another: Even Jesus commanded us to "love one another, even as I have loved you!" He reminded us that "the least among you shall be exalted while those who exalt themselves shall be made weak." He told us that "we are to love God as well as our neighbor." Yet daily in the news there are reports of people rising up against their families, their neighbors, their places of employment. Nations taking on other nations, nationalities, creeds and colors up in arms and it seems to great, so unproportional that there is no way to stop it.
But if Jesus, who spoke for His heavenly Father, told us that we are to LOVE one another...then why do we have so much death and destruction? Why is greed so prevalent? Why do people feel it is necessary to kill at all costs?

Evil. There it is. Evil. Say it out loud: EVIL. Evil has reared its ugly head and is claiming victory. Evil wants us to feel despair. After all, if you feel defeated, do you even want to make an effort to prove evil wrong? Of course not. My goodness, some days after hearing the news, I barely can lift my head let alone go out in the world and be that angel of mercy that we are called by God to be.

So, I propose that we all take a news break day. Turn off that TV. Go in the world and be a beacon of light and hope and goodness. Offer aid to those who need it. Be an angel. Seek out the good in others. If you are like me...if you have that "dream" of seeing peace in the world, do NOT wait for an act of Congress to do it! Right now, many in Congress are commingling with Evil...why should they care about us lowly folks? YOU have the opportunity, like Dr. King did, to be a peacemaker!
Yes, YOU!
So...what are you waiting for? Just do it!
