yet another day that will live in infamy...

December 7, 1941. We all remember that day as when the Japanese struck Pearl Harbor, thus bringing the war in the Pacific home to our shores. The other day that will live forever is November 22, 1963. I was just a baby then, but I have read with interest all those who remember this day as the day that John F. Kennedy, our president of the United States, was assassinated.

Whatever political party you follow, whatever religion you practice, whatever god/God you worship, I hope that you take a moment today to remember him, the potential he had to bring us to greatness--indeed, his work had just begun! Take a moment and reflect--where would our country be had he not been killed so young? Where would we be as a country had Martin Luther King, Jr not been killed so young? Where would we be today had Robert F. Kennedy not been killed...so young. Those events truly shaped the course of history!

I leave you with this one thought that JFK told all of us at his inauguration: "ask not what your country can do for YOU---ask what YOU can do for your country!"

  1. our world went from innocence to pain. Between that and the VietNam war...so much happened too fast. We had to grow up too fast.
