the blurring of life...when does it end??

 XXX rated!!!!

On Thursday, as I was reading the newspaper, I noticed three things: there were two arrests of men who had pictures on their computers of child pornography.  Each is looking at many years in prison for this crime, and indeed, it IS a crime! The exploitation of kids cannot be stressed enough. It is harmful hurtful, hateful and must be abolished. So why is it that on this same day, I also noticed an article of an 18 year old from Tartan High School in St. Paul who has literally asked over 600 porn "stars" to his high school prom and received two affirmative replies...and that although his school has expressly FORBIDDEN it, his parents SEE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS?
Yes, he is 18...legally an adult. Yet does he, or his parents, see the hurt, the harm, the hate in this? To support the life of women who are paid to perform on videos acts that can encourage the thought that all women are good for is satisfaction?
I was watching a TV show last week --The View. In it, there were five women who said they have interviewed former porn stars who, on looking back, were remorseful for the life they had lead. The depression, the lack of respect for themselves, not to mention the many sexually transmitted diseases that they picked up were, in their words, "degrading." Yet there also sat the producer of many of these films with a smirk on his face and "innocence" who replied, "I did not force them to do it, they had free will."
So what is the lesson here? When a set of parents see nothing wrong with their son's quest to escort two women to a party of his own doing because the school district denied him and has received monetary donations from individuals and businesses who have said they appreciate his motivation.....personally, I think that morality has hit an all-time low.
I only can hope that this becomes a teaching moment for parents and their children. To become examples of morality, in words and deed, that women deserve so much more than to be paraded about as nothing more than mere sex toys. No, I am NOT a prude---and yes, I am an advocate of morality. If this bothers you---perhaps look at the one in the mirror and ask yourself..."if it were my daughter, would I want her to become a porn "star?' Or someone who can leave a legacy of good for others to follow?"
Think about it.

Minnesota Teen Can’t Bring Porn Star to Prom

A Minnesota high school senior who asked 600 porn stars to prom on Twitter will not be allowed to bring the one who said yes, his school said.
Mike Stone, 18,  tweeted to his prospective dates: “i have dinner hotel and ill give u a massage to.”
The teenager told ABCNews.com he turned to Twitter after several girls at Tartan High School in Oakdale, Minn., turned him down.
“I didn’t expect this to get blown up. It’s great. Everyone at my school is supporting me,” Stone said.
But school administrators didn’t think so. They banned Megan Piper, 19,  who is a Los Angeles-based adult entertainer, from attending prom.

  1. You know, Rev...I shake my head some days--ok many days! Trying to adjust to what this life is all about. Ok, so here I am...many would call me a drunk--hell, because I am one! Many would also spurn me, they hate me, they would just as soon see me dead under a bridge. I do nothing wrong...yet there it is. I heard about this prom story bullshit on the news myself and thought, "whoa...where did I go WRONG?" I mean...if my daughter were still alive, I sure as hell would lock her up as to seeing her parade naked all over the internet! and if my son even had a NOTION to take a porn star to a prom I'd neuter him! Yet this punk kid thinks he is so innovative for his idea AND he had businesses give him money to pay the airfare of what I see are two skanks...and they laud him for his motivation! I agree when I was 18 the hormones were flying...never would I have dishonored my parents by acting on them like THAT! My God, I kept my Playboys under the mattress and burned them once when my mom found them. I was so embarrassed that she knew my "secret." So---what happened....where did brains go? and why is what he is doing Ok...but folks like me are the bane and scourge of society? You got it right, young lady....this can only lead to no good at all. You just keep saying the word...I am right behind ya!

  2. someone has to speak up and out for the children who are exploited...as well as the women who see nothing wrong in video taping themselves for fun and profit! Just think, about ten years ago it was a scandal to have been caught on camera...now women actually SUBMIT stuff for the internet and why? Don't they realize it will find them later...and there goes their lives! As you also pointed out, sexually transmitted diseases are so prevalent...and THEY DON'T GO AWAY!!!! HPV will hang over them like a dark cloud! We need to teach morals to our kids...good for you for leading the pack, Reverend Baum!

  3. It's not the childeren we need to watch anymore, it's the so called adults. My GOD!! If my kid would have tried to do this, it may have been a cool thought for a while, but then this ugly thing we call REALLITY sets in, who in Gods world would allow their child to do something such as this just because their old sexless lives can only imagine it?
If this is where our world is going, and many think it's all OK and safe, no wonder we are soon to become the Worlds 3rd most powerfull country.
Think about it peoples, we are being over-run by foreigners, we can't feed our own people, but yet we, and I say that timidly, allow our childeren to do things such as this to try to become "THE FATHER" who allowed his child to find a porn star to try to F*** on his prom?
Get real people!! Even Drunks have better sense than That!!

  4. you know, Andy w. you sound so sanctimonious! If you truly cared about your own kids, you'd have joined AA and stopped drinking. Like the porn film director said, "it was your own free will." You have to realize this guy was /is 18, an adult. What he does is his business. What anyone does is their own business. If people didn't watch porn there would be no real reason porn stars would exist, am I right? Somewhere is a guy just jacking off to it and Charlie Sheen had two of them living with his kids. Hugh Hefner is a legend, Larry Flint is a millionaire, all because some horny guy is getting his in the only way possible. Maybe, Reverend, you should write more about flowers and trees and less about what really goes on in the minds of blue blooded guys everywhere!

  5. to "knows better": it's people like you that burn my buttons! You think the exploitation of women is a good thing....let me tell you...its that slippery slope we all climb that gradually drags us down. Ethics, morals...it all seems to be that antique from the past. Now its all "about me" which to me, is so selfish! One thing leads to another, which leads to another. Child porn...how does that turn anyone on? Yet because of that slippery slope, there it is. I know someone who loved porn. He also cheated on his wife. Then he cheated on the girl he was cheating on his wife with. Her told her to do things she normally wouldn't have anyway...which she did to please him. One thing lead to another---now two lives were broken as well as the other lives that were involved. Its a spider web and no one goes unscathed. Maybe you need to rethink what you feel is a priority. There are other things more important in life than sex...love, commitment, loyalty....that is what upholds the fabric of society. Not depravity, lewdness and immorality.

  6. You must be a child porn lover? On your own free will? Frikkin' AA is not the answer.
