trust...Faith..patience

“Trust is not a passive state of mind. It is a vigorous act of the soul by which we choose to lay hold on the promises of God and cling to them despite the adversity that at times seeks to overwhelms us.”
― Jerry Bridges, Trusting God: Even When Life Hurts

There have been many times, I am sure, when you have asked and prayed, begged and pleaded and still not had the answers that you have sought after. So, you tell God that you give up, He can just take a hike.
This is where Faith and patience enter. Although you can't see ahead of the maddening crowd, God can. It's similar to when you are driving down a road behind a slow moving truck. The dashes in the road say that you are able to legally pass. But your vision is obscured. You can't see beyond the rear end of the truck in front of you. Your gut is screaming at you to "stay put!" yet your head wants to pass, to zoom ahead and put this slow vehicle far behind you.
"What the heck..." you mutter as you flick on your signal and get into the passing lane. But just ahead is a car and you have no way to get back behind the truck.
Accident!
See...your gut instinct knew what your impatience didn't want you to see: common sense says to wait until you had a clear picture of what was coming. Your impatience wouldn't allow for it, so you just got yourself into a much larger problem. Let's hope that there are no fatalities...but even so, recuperating from a nasty car wreck is not good either.
God is like this...He says, "wait! I got this!" yet you just push ahead, and when His answer doesn't agree with your wishes, you move ahead and get into more trouble.
Today...seek patience in all that you do. God has this...oh yes, He does!
