if you never...

My life is like a salt shaker. It has its share of ups, downs and sideways motions. I have to settle down before once again I am shaken. Each trial is jarring and I know that things won't be as they were before, but it's what we all go through. We have to adapt and grow from change.

That brings to mind a poem that I received in an e-mail. It helps to be reminded that although we dislike the bumps and bruises of life, God is still there, just trying to smooth things out once more.

God Said…

If you never felt pain,
Then how would you know that I'm a Healer?

If you never went through difficulties,
Then how would you know that I'm a Deliverer?

If you never had a trial,
Then how could you call yourself an over-comer?

If you never felt sadness,
Then how would you know that I'm a Comforter?

If you never made a mistake,
Then how would you know that I'm forgiving?

If you knew all,
Then how would you know that I will answer your questions?

If you never were in trouble,
Then how would you know that I will come to your rescue?

If you never were broken,
Then how would know that I can make you whole?

If you never had a problem,
Then how would you know that I can solve them?

If I gave you all things,
Then how would you appreciate them?

If I never corrected you,
Then how would you know that I love you?

If you had all power,
Then how would you learn to depend on me?

If your life was perfect,
Then what would you need Me for?

  2. a woman in control of her worldAugust 13, 2013 at 12:24 PM

Its easy to give in to feelings of self-doubt and back down from challenges. But that’s certainly not what being a strong woman is all about.

  3. No matter what we have gone through or what we will go through in the future, God promises: “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand: “ (Isaiah 41:10). Hang in there, Rev Baum....it will all come to pass. I promise!

  4. No Matter how we think our boat is steady and that we have prepared for anything, something always has to happen to make us realize that we are not as in control as we once thought! Just man the lifeboats and hang on tight....Jesus has this one covered, too! Or so I tell myself on a daily basis!!
