words of love...why are they so hard to say?

"A gentle reminder to us all...every time you see a news article or video, or talk about a scandal or something that is not good that is happening in our government... stop and say a prayer for those in authority. God can do what we can't...talking or complaining among ourselves does little to fix the problems, but prayer can change things!"

How often do you watch the news, read the paper or hear comments made on the street, shake your head and wonder if we aren't all just destined for doom? Or when you see a comment posted on social media, do you fire back with hateful or hurtful words....is this in any way contributing to the cause, or just creating more dissension?

I see many such comments that tend to stray in another direction entirely. I don't know about you, but an article about, say, global warming, can start out with comments related to it and end up with slings of angry, spiteful words hurled at another--even though we have no idea who they are personally, as long as we get that last word in, we think we are triumphant!

Enough already! If you want peace, work for justice... and how are you working for justice if you throw epithets at another person? How is that advancing any cause that you have?

Today...watch the words that flow through your mouth as well as through your fingers. I have always taught children, "think TWICE and act ONCE!" Ask yourself, "what will be accomplished if I speak this way? Who will benefit or be hurt by it?" and then, ask yourself this: "if Jesus were sitting right next to you, would you be saying this?"

No? Then don't. Begin today with words of love to all that you meet!
