How can you show God's love to others?

May your transforming and calming love enable us to get a hold of ourselves and radiate your love living and shining within us.

How can you show God's love to others?

If you were to wrap up God's greatest gift to you for someone else, how would you do it? Would it be in a beautifully wrapped box with a huge ribbon? Would it be in a gift bag? I can't wrap a gift worth a darn, so my contribution would probably have a lot of wrinkles, lots of tape and apologies to go with it. I know of a gal who could wrap a gift with so much care and precision that one almost hated to open the box for fear of damaging the exquisite beauty and effort of wrapping up the box!

Regardless...it is not how the box is wrapped, it's how much sincerity went into the contents of it in the first place. Ever see a young child wrap a gift and the look in their eyes when an adult opens it? That child's heart is so full of love it spills out in that moment. That is how we ought to be when we give something away. No strings attached, pure love within us radiating outward like a beacon for all to see.

God's greatest gift to us was His Son. John 3:16. We all know that verse, right? "For God loved the world so much He gave His only begotten Son so that all may have eternal life." There have been so many times when I look at a clock and it reads 3:16 and that verse just pops into my head. What a great reminder of how much we all are loved--no strings attached. All we need is a sincere, accepting heart, full of love to be able to receive it. Then, once having received it, we must pass it on...again with no strings attached.

So, how does one give away that gift? By doing something for another. You don't have to gift wrap an action. You just do it. No need to think it through,  you just do it. No need to consult with anyone, you just do it. You just do it when you may not feel like doing it. You just do it when no one is watching. You just do it though there may be no rewards for you---or so you think! Actually, once you give that gift away, the rewards are so great, the feeling so wonderful, you'll wonder why you didn't  do it sooner!

Forgiveness is a gift. Service to another is a gift. Offering love without conditions is a gift. So is kindness...in fact, there are many gifts disguised within the Love that Jesus offered to us when He died for our sins. Many wonderful gifts. Gifts that keep on giving when they are given away! And they multiply...like ripples in the water they grow over time to become swells, then waves and finally, they reach another shore and are seen by many.

Want to make a wave today? Begin by giving a gift of Love. Jesus showed us how...all you need to do is to follow His example.
